Our World Under The Waves
Before Dorsal Fin Books...
Back in Jurassic times (September 2017) I had just about finished my university studies, but came to the conclusion that a career in research and academia was not for me. Nonetheless, I was determined to keep my head firmly in the marine biology game as I veered towards conservation and public engagement.
This was how Our World Under The Waves was born, an online blog that was, and remains to this day, free to access (no ads, no subscription required) and accessible to readers from non-scientific backgrounds.
And every article (of which there are now over 50) is written in two parts, focusing on the featured animal, algae or microorganism in their natural environment before exploring their (often varied, sometimes surprising) connections with humanity. An approach that also inspired the name.
So why not have a look for yourself?
